Week 2 submission for "Weekly Art Challenge." This week's topic was "The Universe." I'm not entirely sure why, but the first thing that came to mind when the topic was decided was Astro Man from Megaman 8. So that's what I went with.
I drew him in pencil then went back and inked the line art, erased the pencil underneath, and colored him in with colored pencils.
The background image is just a (darkened) Nasa photograph that I saved a while back because I thought it looked cool. Erasing the white splotches around Astro Man that the magic selector tool thing didn't pick up was kind of a pain, though.
As always, critiques, tips, and comments are welcomed and encouraged.
